MSC Sports announce 2023 MLB coverage plans and April announcers

MSC Sports announced today their coverage plans for the 2023 MLB season. MSC's 2023 coverage will feature weekly games on Tuesday (Tuesday Night Baseball on MSC+) and Thursday (Thursday, Night Baseball on MSC), one monthly "Game of the Month" game, a year long package of MLB Sunday Leadoff games, mostly on MSC Sports Extra, and at least 1 weekly game on MSC+2. MSC will also air select special events games. 

Joe Davis, David Ortiz and Sara Smith return as the lead broadcast team. They will primairly call Thursday Night Baseball, Game of the Month and other select special events games. Ryan Rouco and Frank Thomas, with Rodrigo Williams joining for select games, will be the secondary broadcast team, primarily calling Tuesday night games on MSC+. Jason Benetti, who will be joined by color commentators represented by the teams playing in the games, and will also be joined by Rodrigo Williams for select games, will call MLB Sunday Leadoff games on MSC Sports Extra and MSC. David Shappel and Ryan Rindwhistle will call select MSC+2 games. Other play-by-play talent includes Steve Lowhart and Frank Zaun, other color talent includes Sam Scotty and Devin White.  

Sara Lauding, Pedro Martinez and Dotrelle Willis will be the primary studio team. They will host studio coverage, as part of The Ultimate MLB Show, at 7PM ET on MSC prior to every 8PM ET Thursday Night Baseball game. They will also host MLB Game of the Week First Pitch on MSC prior to select game of the month and special event games. The Ultimate MLB Show, airing at 3PM ET each weekday on MSC+, and airing prior to select MSC+ and MSC+2 games, will be hosted by David Shappel or Steve Lowhart and feature analysis from at least 2 of Ryan Rindwhistle, Sam Scotty, Frank Thomas and David Ortiz. Steve Lowhart and Sam Scotty will also host The Ultimate MLB Show Featuring Live-Lookins on MSC+2.
